Vela Roth’s Blood Solace is an incredible sequel

Holy moly when I tell you this book was a wild ride. Here’s the thing about second books, I find in so many cases they don’t QUITE live up to the first book when it’s one that I find incredible. This is a typical occurrence, otherwise known as second book syndrome. Blood Solace by Vela Roth did not suffer from this affliction. I loved it just as much as the first and never felt like it lacked.

The Writing Retreat is perfect for thriller lovers

The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz was a thrilling yet creepy ride pretty much the whole way through. It was a very enjoyable read that kept me on the edge of my seat and unable to put it down because I wanted to see what secrets would be revealed.

Margaret Rogerson’s The Mysteries of Thorn Manor had me swooning

The Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson was a cute little read and an enjoyable peek back into the world and lives of the characters introduced in Sorcery of Thorns. The novella follows Elisabeth and Nathaniel once again, and gives a cute look at how their relationship has progressed (the forbidden kissing had me swooning, ohh my).

Guardian Demon by Aurora Ascher is an excellent entry in her Hell Bent series

I was very excited to get my greedy little hands on Guardian Demon by Aurora Ascher (yay for fellow Canadians!). So when I had the opportunity to jump on getting this ARC you bet I was right on it. As someone who loves the morally grey characters in pretty much every book, of course demons were going to be a huge draw, because who’s more likely to have a bit of a dark side than a demon?

Sirena Knighton’s Wedded to the Warlord is a fun, light read

I jumped on the chance to read Wedded to the Warlord based on the description (I love me an only one bed trope) and a desire for something light to read after a bunch of intense books. The description convinced me this was just the book I was looking for, hopefully with plenty of romance. Wedded to the Warlord is the first book in a series, with each book being something of a stand-alone following different couples.
