Of course this results in a very anxiety ridden book from start to finish and had me nervous at every turn for the characters I have grown to love so much.
The conclusion is definitely a tough read at times. As is true of the series, it deals with heavy topics which means there are some truly dark things that occur and the characters are forced to endure a lot. There is so much occurring in the finale that it absolutely flies by and I found myself deep into it and couldn’t believe how fast it went by. Not a moment of this book drags and the action never stopped which made for an engaging read that was hard to stop reading once started.
The characters have come so far since the beginning of The Jewelry Box series and I have loved every moment of their growth. Not only Henry and Ily, but other side characters became such a huge part of the books and became such real, engaging characters that it is difficult not to grow attached to them.
I honestly don’t know what more I can say about this series, these characters, and in particular this book that I haven’t already said in previous reviews. It was a fitting ending to an incredible series that I enjoyed immensely. Once again Pepper Winters managed to immerse me completely in the world she created and provided a dark romance that was such a fantastic read while being incredibly difficult at times in its darkness. I’m sad to see these characters go but at the same time glad to have gotten all of the answers finally after such a wild ride.
