Flame and Sparrow by S. M. Gaither was so much more than I imagined.

Now I have been very much looking forward to this book since it was announced, but holy moly did it ever knock my expectations out of the park. Prior to starting this book, I have been in a brutal reading slump, particularly directed towards fantasy which is usually my main genre. So talk about making my reading life difficult. Not to mention frustrating. Flame and Sparrow is the fantasy book to finally knock me out of my struggle to read fantasy. It absolutely blew me away. Like I am going to be living in this world in my head for the foreseeable future now because I’m just staggered by what I read.

Curse of the Thorn King by Lisette Marshall is a cute, intriguing twist on the tale of Beauty and the Beast.

Curse of the Thorn King was a very enjoyable read with wonderful characters, as few as there were (hello empty castle problems) and it’s a short, yet satisfying read.

Omen of Ice by Jus Accardo is a perfect fantasy read for lovers of Fae books.

If you love badass females, magic, and adventure, as well as secrets and betrayals then this is the book for you. It balances court intrigue and quests quite nicely, containing the best of both worlds.

Guardian Demon by Aurora Ascher is an excellent entry in her Hell Bent series

I was very excited to get my greedy little hands on Guardian Demon by Aurora Ascher (yay for fellow Canadians!). So when I had the opportunity to jump on getting this ARC you bet I was right on it. As someone who loves the morally grey characters in pretty much every book, of course demons were going to be a huge draw, because who’s more likely to have a bit of a dark side than a demon?
