Capri returns to solve another murder all while juggling her tour business and a potential new romance.
This series of books keeps blowing me away with how quickly they draw me in to the story and have me racing through the pages to get to the answers.
The story takes off right from the first chapter and that’s all it took to draw me into it. Capri is drawn into a new investigation as one of her clients on a tour seemingly witnesses a potential crime, and Capri can’t let the woman’s fate go without finding answers. The plot twists and turns as she uncovers more about the case, and Capri’s tenacity in the investigation makes her a main character to adore.
Capri is such a relatable character as she juggles her tour company, a desire to become an investigative reporter as she once dreamed of, and personal issues with both family and a budding romance that at times is in direct opposition with her investigating. I loved how dedicated to realizing her dream of being an investigative reporter she was and the dedication with which she tackled this case that all but fell into her lap. Capri isn’t the only stand out character in this book however, as even the side characters tend to be stand outs. From Heather, to Petito, I enjoyed all of their interactions with Capri and honestly just wanted more of them on the page.
The flow of A Tour to Die for felt like such perfection to me as well. There was never a slow point in the plot and it somehow managed to move from one scene to the next so naturally with Capri investigating one small bit of the case after another. It never felt forced or unbelievable and so I was able to become so immersed in the book and the investigation taking place, which made the pages pass by so quickly because I was so invested in each step.
I honestly enjoyed this book so much and while wrapping up the investigation the plot centered around, there were some open-ended questions left for the reader – and the characters – by the end of the book that makes it clear there will be more book involving Capri. I, for one, cannot wait to read more of her journey because I am fully invested in this series of books and it just keeps on getting better. This is definitely a thriller to read!
